Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists and other clinicians who work with older adults, and/or desire information about advances in treatments for our aging population should attend.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This conference is designed to provide participants (physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) with advanced information through presentations, lectures and symposia. A broad range of clinical topics will be covered, including the latest information on diagnosis, management, and treatment for common problems in the aging population. With its theme of “Riding the Leading Edge of the Age Wave”, the meeting will provide key information for front-line care providers from multiple disciplines, including insight from experience and review of recent research which will help participants to improve their care of older adults.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
By the conclusion of this conference, attendees should be able to:
1. Understand new assessment strategies, and treatment options for geriatric medical conditions including: chronic lung disease, dysphagia, urinary and fecal incontinence, arteriovascular disease, and inflammatory arthritis.
2. Identify appropriate treatment goals and optimal drug therapy for common conditions, such as stroke, peripheral vascular disease, hyperlipidemia, inflammatory bowel disease and diabetes with an emphasis on patient safety and rational prescribing.
3. Describe a variety of physical measures and medical therapies to improve common musculoskeletal complaints and movement disorders in older patients.
4. Outline best practices late-life care including nursing home practices.
